Kingston Eye Institute hosts a modern, state of the art Ambulatory Surgery Centre, with a main operating theatre and a minor surgery suite. Built according to the strict criteria of the American Institute of Architecture for Healthcare Facilities, and the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario licensing for Out-Of-Hospital Surgical Facilities, in airflow and quality, electrical systems, space planning, finishings’, and sterilization protocols.
Surgical Procedures have been available at Kingston Eye Institute since August 2011.
The surgery centre was built to allow for the utilization of premium eye surgeries including;
- Refractive cataract surgery with advanced technology intraocular lens implants.
- Minor eyelid procedures such as: ectropion and entropion repair; nasolacrimal duct irrigation, enlargement, or occlusion; and removal of benign eyelid lumps and bumps.
